ONLINE GIVING

Giving is one of the central themes in the Bible. Jesus talked more about this subject than heaven, hell or prayer. To understand what it means to be a Christ-follower, we must also understand what it means to be a giver.

First Things First.
The first belongs to God. We find this principle all through God’s Word. Tithing, giving God the first ten percent of our income to the local church, is the primary way we acknowledge that God is first. (Proverbs 3:9,10).

Know Giving, Know Life. Giving is the antidote for materialism. Whereas the tithe is giving ten percent of your income to the local church, an offering is given out of the ninety percent of your income. Therefore the offering is giving over and above the tithe. The Bible says that by giving generously we are able to “take hold of the life that is truly life.” You aren’t really living unless you are freely giving. “(I Timothy 6:18,19)

The Treasure Test. Giving is the only area in the Bible where God invites us to test Him. Give your tithe (the first 10% of your income) to God and see if He does not open the floodgates of heaven to bless you in ways that you never dreamed possible. (Malachi 3:10)

An Eternal Investment. Even when the stock market’s down, you can make an investment that pays dividends for a lifetime and beyond. By investing in the life-changing message of Jesus, you can leverage your money for eternal purposes. (I Timothy 6:7)

Thank you for considering Community Life Church’s online giving option. This page offers a convenient method for giving:
  • A tax-deductible donation or scholarship to an individual participating in a CLC mission trip or activity, even if you do not regularly attend our church.
  • A gift when you are out of town, or at a time that best fits your schedule.
  • An offering to the building fund.

The convenience and simplicity of online giving will be helpful to some, but in order to practice good stewardship, we would ask that you only give online if you pay off your credit card bill in full each month. If you could use assistance or encouragement in managing debt and finances, please consider attending our fall 2008 class of Financial Peace University. It is a ministry of Dave Ramsey that provides practical applicable advice on financial stewardship.

But just as you excel in everything--in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us--see that you also excel in this grace of giving." 2 Cor. 8:7 (NIV)
