Our History

In May 2003, Pastor Mike and Mary Banas, then associate pastors of Mid Cities Community Church in Midland, Texas, were introduced to Pastor Joe Martin, the pastor of Trinity Church in Dallas. Pastor Joe had some members and attenders who lived in northern Collin County and had a desire to see a church planted in McKinney. With much time together bathed in prayer, it was clear the Lord was leading the Banas family to McKinney.

Pastor Mike, Mary and their four children moved to McKinney in September 2003. They worked quickly with the group of men and women who were committed to the vision of planting a new church in McKinney, and together launched their first weekend service on Sunday, September 28, 2003 at Earl Slaughter Elementary School.

The church grew as lives were changed by the grace of God.

In March of 2005 Community Life Church was incorporated in the State of Texas. Since then God has added many families to Community Life Church and has showed Himself strong on behalf of those who desired and expected His power and presence in their lives.

Today by the grace of God the church is vibrant with individuals and families that desire to fulfill the vision of Reaching People and Building Community.

We are very grateful for all that God is doing and all that He is going to do.
